Ahoy, everyone! Now, it hasn’t been that long since I lamented about not drawing anything. Well, I decided to do something about that. I sat down, plugged in my Wacom, and I drew something. Here it is:

Waking up and not knowing where you are... priceless.

This is the first drawing to get initialed “JV09″. This literally started as me just doing exercises drawing skeletal stick-figures of people. Well, it’s a little rough and I think I will clean up the lines a bit and color this. Also, the left hand needs to be redone. It’s a little weird and the fingers look awkward. Oh well, the magic of digital art, eh? It felt good though. I forgot how much fun it was to tell a story with just a picture. I’ll probably add more things into the setting just to tell a more complete story. A picture truly is worth a thousand words*.

Well, I wasn’t the only one to lament my neglecting my favorite hobby. In response to my post, both Brandon and Ian updated their blogs** with posts listing hobbies they have neglected and would like to pick up again. Well, I present a challenge to you guys. If you haven’t done so already, pick one thing from those lists of yours and do it. This challenge extends to anyone reading this post. Pick something you enjoyed doing often in the past, but don’t anymore. You don’t have to spend a lot of time on it. Just do it.

Well, in other news, I have been making some serious headway with PMS (Portfolio Management System). The Admin side is almost done. All that needs to be done is for that bloody image uploading issue to be resolved. From there, I can work options regarding the images into the “Edit” page. That will finish up the Admin side. From there, I can put together to Portfolio Site side of the system and I will be in Alpha. I will release the code under GPL and people can start trying it out. It will get the same treatment as “Duimdla” in that it will get it’s own page on my blog. I should probably put this up on GoogleCode as well with access to an SVN.
