Jaco’s Random Writings

So, the others involved in “The Blogenning” have all done a post in which they cover 5 things. Guess I’ll continue the trend. My 5 things are 5 Places I would like to visit sometime in my lifetime.

1. South Africa
   I would like to go back to South Africa and see more of the country. Funny thing, despite living there, I’ve only really been along a narrow swath running from the Northeast corner to the Southwest corner of South Africa (Limpopo, Cape Town, and everything in between). I’ve never been to Durban, nor the Great Karoo. That, and I miss my family there dearly.
2. New Zealand
   After seeing the Lord of the Rings movies and finding out that most of it was shot in New Zealand, I decided then and there that I needed to see the country for myself at least once. It really is a beautiful country (at least that’s what all my friends who have been there keep telling me).
3. Europe
   I know, Europe comprises of many countries and cultures and it would be virtually impossible to travel all of Europe in a single trip. Rather, I want to do several trips to Europe. First, I would do a trip to the Netherlands, going down into Belgium (maybe a little bit of Paris after that). The next trip would be to Germany, going from Berlin over to Munich and then through the Czech Republic (maybe passing through Switzerland). After that trip, I would do a trip to Great Britain and then France. Finally, I would make a trip to Italy and Spain. Of course, I would like to ultimately see all of Europe, but if I had to choose, those trips would be the ones I would make (over a 4 year span).
4. Brazil
   I have a friend from Brazil who keeps telling me how amazing of a country it is. But I would most definitely like to see some of the Amazon rainforest. And I hear the food there is amazing. Brazil has a wide variety of cultures and I would like to experience quite a few of them. See, this is what happens when you have friends from other countries, the more they talk about their country, the more you want to go see what all the hoopla is all about.
5. The Rest of the United States
   The furthest West that I have ever been in the US is San Antonio, Texas. There is so much to see in the USA. This is an enormous country with an incredible variety of cultures within it. That and how can I travel the world if I haven’t even been to the West Coast? Besides the awesome beer out there, I really, really want to see it. As well as the rest of this country.
