Grrr, I knew this was going to happen some time. I just didn’t think it was going to happen so soon. Yes, I got Artist’s Block. After getting back from work, I sat at my screen trying to think of something to draw. And for a good hour, I was just pulling a blank. Well, I have a secret weapon for that. Let me introduce Alchemy. It’s a gesture drawing software that being developed to help spur inspiration. I’m still getting the hang of it, but I’m starting to really like it.
So here’s what I created in Alchemy.
So I started adding form to the chaos. Once I see something, I just throw it into Alias Sketchbook Pro. Here’s what I got out of that:
I see a priestess. I’m thinking she’s a priestess of Athena. So here’s the rough sketch I got out of that:
A priestess calling lightning through her staff. I’m sure I probably could have gleaned more from the chaos I created in Alchemy. But hey, I’m just starting to get a hang of this. And as they say, a tool is only as good as the person using it.
