Ahoy, folks. Hope everyone had a good winter break and whatnot. The New Year has started and a war has started just in time to see it in. But I’m not going to talk about that. Instead, I’m going to talk everything else.

So it’s no mystery that ’08 wasn’t exactly a waltz through a rose-garden. Actually, it was probably more akin to a mad dash through a rosebush, thorns and all. On the outside, it looked nice and pretty, that is until we found ourselves entangled deep inside of it. Getting out of the rosebush left us torn, scratched, bleeding, but still alive and kicking. So, people don’t have too many good expectations for ’09. I remain cautiously optimistic in that many good things can happen, but that there is a pretty good chance it may actually turn out worse than ’08.

In other news, I’m working on a little project right now. It’s essentially a CMS (Content Management System), but geared specifically towards creating and maintaining a portfolio site. I don’t like hand-coding a site then having to update contents on that site repeatedly, by copying the same repetitive code over and over again. No, that’s what PHP is for. So I’m creating a system in PHP where I would simply have to log in, click a button, fill in the blanks, and boom, project added to my portfolio site. I’m also using it as a great excuse to learn the more complicated side to PHP. I will have an Alpha of this system up shortly for those of you who would like to try this out and eventually use it.

On a somewhat related note, I’m just waiting on some footage of the Duimdla project. Once I get the footage, I will post that up on the project page.
